ILLiad renewals

Find the due date

An item is due on the date highlighted on its ILLiad label. You can also find the due date on your "Checked out” page when you log into ILLiad.

Renew before the due date

Renewal requests must be made no later than the day before the item is due and no earlier than five (5) days before it is due. You cannot renew an item online earlier than five days before it is due, and you cannot renew it online the day it is due or later.

In most cases, requesting a renewal will extend the due date five (5) days, allowing us time to request an extension from the library we borrowed it from. Requesting a renewal will not automatically guarantee that the item will be renewed for longer than the initial five (5) days. If the lending library agrees to renew it for longer than the five days, the new due date will be shown in the "Checked-out" item record in your ILLiad account. If the request is denied, the item will become due at the end of the five-day extension.

Renew online

Renewal requests are made through your ILLiad account. Log in and click the button marked “Checked out.” Choose the item to be renewed by clicking on the transaction number. This opens a "Detailed information" page where you click the “Renew” button. If the request is not made within the correct time frame, a message informing you of that will be displayed. You cannot renew an item more than once.

Questions regarding renewals may be made to illoans@stmartin.edu or (360) 486-8802.
